What I learned from this experience
Je'Quan D. Sailes
Things that I have learned from this experience today is that advertising is related to being a salesmen. I also learned that being a advertiser takes alot of time to pursue and also is sometimes hard to manage your regular life with your working time. Being a advertiser you will have partnership with other companies that will help you complete things or objectives and will give you connections with other companies as well. I learned that being apart of a company you have duties , for example some of the workers become head hunters who find and persuade people that might not be looking to work for that company or work at all. Also working for companies may also give open doors and more opportunities in your life for a better future.
Tips I learned on advertising
- When you are working towards a career you also want to work towards having your own company for that specific career.
- The advertising business takes a lot of education, skills, and work.
- While in the advertising business you will need a passport because a lot of traveling is involved in advertising.
- communication is the biggest part of advertising.
- Having a big amount of clients is called a book of clients.

Advertising Information Matters
What I learned today from this person today is basically you have to pursue your dreams, I mean don't put your thoughts down because your friend said he wants to write but you know you wanna work with designing with advertising. Be a motivator and support yourself.you might start off with a candy store but it might gain worldwide, and become international.Your busisness might just get platinum with a few customers a day.If you're really interested in advertising you will learn to convince your customers into buying your brands of things. You should prepare yourself for changes because like early i said a candy store will become worldwide. It's really your future what matters because how do you really want to look at yourself in the future? Your customers probably will believe in you if you do,so if you think you're a failure your customers will to but hey, don't think negative! Aim to success! Pursue your dreams!

What We Learned About the Advertising Sales Rep. By Akina
What we learned today is to take advantage of every opportunity you get that is offered to you. He explained all the opportunities he had and how they benefited him later on in life. For example he told us how he had the opportunity to go to Britain, London to work for a publishing company to learn how to publish. The skills he gained by doing this is that he learned how to publish his own books. It also gave him a partnership with the company so later on when he had gotten his own advertising company they could help him. Another thing that he taught us was that there are certain type of ways to advertise such as advertising jobs that are needed, schools, ect.
What Did I Learn:Brittany Britton
What I learned from Mr. Gray is to never give up on what you want to do in life. I now understand that an advertiser wears many hats while being the "camander in chief" in the bussiness. Some of the other things I learned are that an advertiser has to put products in the newpaper, put ads on websites and put togheter publicatins. They may also travel from many different places to meet with the person who wants to advertise. He has also said that the are many oppertunites to "shadow" people durring the simmer and durring other times as well. A few things that was brought to my attention that I was unaware of is that advertisers have many, many people to work woth such as:newspaper directors schools and people who own websites.
What I Learned - Lavonn Ackerman
There are many things that i learned today with Mr.Gray. I learned that advertisers get opportunities to travel around the world. I learned that advertisers can have many different clients and need to stay very organized. I learned that advertisers are that one's who put that actual ad in the newspaper or an the Internet. Advertising is a very diverse profession.
What I learned today - By: Justin Joseph ♪
What I learned today is that is that being an advertiser is a easy and great way of earning money. And it is also a great way to help people find a right product or store for them. For example, lets say that someone advertises McDonald's Frozen Strawberry Lemonade, and it shows the person pouring the ice and squirting lemon juice and strawberry juice inside of the cup, persuading the customer into buying the Frozen Strawberry Lemonade. So that is an example of saying that advertising; a good way into earning money from what the product user uses, want's and needs. It is also a good way of having a nice friendly competition with another restaurant, store, school, collage, etc.. For example; there was an competition between Church's Chicken and Popeyes so see who's chicken was better, and Church's Chicken beat Popeyes. So that is an example of a nice way of earning more money but yet at the same time, the other company or store earns money too which is both fair for each 2 restaurants .

Employment is projected to grow about as fast as average. As with most managerial jobs, keen competition is expected for these highly coveted positions.
Employment change. Overall employment of advertising, marketing, promotions, public relations, and sales managers is expected to increase by 13 percent through 2018. Job growth will be spurred by competition for a growing number of goods and services, both foreign and domestic, and the need to make one’s product or service stand out in the crowd. In addition, as the influence of traditional advertising in newspapers, radio, and network television wanes, marketing professionals are being asked to develop new and different ways to advertise and promote products and services to better reach potential customers.
Sales and marketing managers and their departments constitute some of the most important personnel in an organization and are less subject to downsizing or outsourcing than are other types of managers, except in the case of companies that are consolidating. Employment of these managers, therefore, will vary primarily on the basis of the growth or contraction in the industries that employ them. For example, if, as is expected, the number of automobile dealers declines over the next decade, these major employers of sales managers will need fewer of them. Employment of marketing managers will grow about as fast as average at 12 percent between 2008 and 2018, and that of sales managers will grow faster than average at 15 percent over the same period
Jakara Working Conditions
For sales positions that require meeting clients, large employers prefer applicants with a college degree. Smaller companies generally are more willing to hire individuals with a high school degree. Successful sales experience and the ability to communicate effectively become more important than educational attainment once the candidate is hired. Most training for advertising sales agents takes place informally on the job.
Education and training. Although a high school diploma may be sufficient for an entry-level advertising sales position, some employers prefer applicants with a college degree, particularly for sales positions that require meeting clients. Courses in marketing, leadership, communication, business, and advertising are helpful. For those who have a proven record of successfully selling other products, educational requirements are not likely to be strict.
Most training, however, takes place on the job, and can be formal or informal in nature. In most cases, an experienced sales manager instructs a newly hired advertising sales agent who lacks sales experience. In this one-on-one environment, supervisors typically coach new hires and observe them as they make sales calls and contact clients. Supervisors then advise the new hires on ways to improve their interaction with clients. Employers may bring in consultants to lead formal training sessions when agents sell to a specialized market segment, such as automotive dealers or real estate professionals.
Other qualifications. Employers look for applicants who are honest and who possess a pleasant personality and neat professional appearance. After gaining entry into the occupation, the advertising sales agent will find that successful sales experience and the ability to communicate effectively become more important than educational attainment. In fact, when the agent is selling or soliciting ad space, personality traits are equally, if not more, important than one’s academic background. In general, smaller companies are more willing to hire unproven individuals.
Because they represent their employers to the executives of client organizations, advertising sales agents must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Being multilingual, particularly in English and Spanish, is another skill that will benefit prospective advertising agents as media increasingly seek to market to Hispanics and foreign-born persons. Self-motivation, organization, persistence, independence, and the ability to multitask are required because advertising sales agents set their own schedules and perform their duties without much supervision. Creativity also is an invaluable trait for advertising sales agents, who must come up with new ways to attract clients and to serve existing ones.
Advancement. Advancement in the occupation means taking on bigger, more lucrative clients. Agents with proven leadership ability and a strong sales record may advance to supervisory and managerial positions, such as sales supervisor, sales manager, or vice president of sales. Frequent contact with managers of other departments and people in other firms provides sales agents with leads about job openings, enhancing their advancement opportunities. Successful advertising sales agents also may advance to positions in other industries, such as corporate sales. In small firms, where the number of supervisory and management positions is limited, advancement may come slowly. Promotion may occur more quickly in larger media firms and in media representative firms.

Telecommuting jobs (work at home jobs) come along with a lot of perks, but most often that does not include benefits like health insurance, life insurance, pension, or 401k accounts. There are exceptions of course, but for the most part, a decision to work from home will require a few sacrifices in exchange for the advantages gained from telecommuting.
For that reason, telecommuting is more often a logical choice for stay-at-home mothers who can take advantage of benefits provided through their spouse's employer, college students who are still covered by their parents' insurance plans, and retirees who already have their own coverage.
In addition, telecommuting job seekers will often discover that most work from home jobs pay less than traditional jobs performed in the workplace. How much less? Sometimes as much as 50% less.
One thing to remember about companies that employ telecommuters is that they are trying to save money and cut costs by having a remote workforce. However, this is not such a bad thing!
For that reason, telecommuting is more often a logical choice for stay-at-home mothers who can take advantage of benefits provided through their spouse's employer, college students who are still covered by their parents' insurance plans, and retirees who already have their own coverage.

One thing to remember about companies that employ telecommuters is that they are trying to save money and cut costs by having a remote workforce. However, this is not such a bad thing!
Not only do the employers save money, employees who work remotely from home can also save a substantial amount of money. By avoiding long commutes they save money on gasoline and vehicle maintenance, not to mention the lack of need for a business attire, meals on-the-go and more. In a year's time, these saved expenses can easily make up for any loss in income.
There ARE employers who will offer a higher salary with benefits to telecommuters, but most often these companies also place more stringent requirements on their employees. For example, if you were hired by one of these companies, you might be required to work from the office for several months or even a year to "prove" yourself. Even once you were permitted to work from home, you might still need to go into the office once or twice a week for meetings or training. You might need to attend teleconferences on a regular basis, or be subject to more frequent performance reviews.
However, when most people begin looking for a job to do from home, they are often seeking a flexible - or even more relaxed - work arrangement and prefer a greater level of freedom. They don't want to deal with workplace meetings or teleconferences.
If that describes you, know that there are definitely companies that don't require this level of participation - they are glad to offer a paycheck in return for quality work and you never have to step foot into the office. But once again, you may have to sacrifice a higher salary and benefits package for the freedom you will gain.
So, if you have decided that working a telecommuting job is for you, ask yourself which aspects of working from home are more important to you? Do you absolutely need benefits? Do you have to make a certain salary in order to cover your living expenses? Or do you just need a way to bring in some extra money from home without all the extras?
Considering all of this before you begin your job search will save you time and allow you to obtain the type of job that will work best for your unique situation.

What is the Advertising Job Description?
Are you thinking of joining the advertising line? Do you know what an advertising job description entails? Advertising covers a very broad spectrum. There are many types of advertisements for various industries and sectors. There are also different mediums of advertising like television, radio, internet and print.
Briefly, the job description for advertising is to put up advertisements in the media such as television, radio, newspapers, magazines or internet. The advertisements could be for selling a product or service. For example, a company hires an advertising agency or advertiser to publicize the sale of its product. Then, the advertiser may put up a simple print advertisement or a more complicated television advertisement complete with actors, dialogue and music. Even a simple television “jingle” with one or two models promoting the product might suffice!

For sales managers, the size of their sales territory is another important determinant of salary. Many managers earn bonuses equal to 10 percent or more of their salaries.

Advertising, marketing, and public relations managers are provided with offices close to top managers. Long hours, including evenings and weekends, are common. Almost 40 percent of advertising, marketing, and public relations managers worked 50 hours or more a week, compared to 15 percent for all occupations. Working under pressure is unavoidable when schedules change and problems arise, but deadlines and goals must still be met.
Substantial travel may be involved. For example, attendance at meetings sponsored by associations or industries is often mandatory. Sales managers travel to national, regional, and local offices and to various dealers and distributors. Advertising and promotion managers may travel to meet with clients or representatives of communications media. At times, public relations managers travel to meet with special interest groups or government officials. Job transfers between headquarters and regional offices are common, particularly among sales managers.
